Delete your account
Last updated:
Foodium has two Apps, and each deletes only its own profile: the Foodium App, for diners, and Foodium Ads Manager, for businesses. Your sign-in (the email address, Apple account or Google account you sign in with) is deleted together with the last profile that uses it. The email address itself is erased 30 days later, or stays on the record of the closed account if the sign-in ever had a business profile (see “What we keep”). You can delete your profile in each App at any time, or ask us by email, without the App.
Foodium App (diners)
- Open the Foodium App and go to your “Profile” (the person icon at the top of the home screen).
- Tap “Management”.
- Open the “More” menu (⋯), tap “Delete Account” and confirm.
- To confirm it's you, the App asks you to sign in again with your Google or Apple account. If you close that window, nothing is deleted.
We delete your profile and what is in it: your username, name and photo, Your Places, your reviews and their photos, your Swipes and the photos you saved, your chats and contacts, and your settings. Some things stay, mainly: the reports you sent about places, photos or problems with the App, which stay as you sent them so that we can still review them; a safety copy of your profile, erased after 30 days; the record of your closed account; a short record of what we sent you and of the venue pages you opened, erased after 30 days; what is part of other people's accounts (their contact for you, their chat with you and where they said they were with you); and some technical records and usage statistics. They are described under “What we keep”. If a Foodium business profile also uses your sign-in, your account stays open for it, with your sign-in and the details that belong to it (your email address and, where your account holds them, your name, your phone number and the link to your Google or Apple photo). Otherwise your sign-in is deleted too. This can't be undone: if you open Foodium again, you start a new profile.
Foodium Ads Manager (businesses)
Where to delete in Foodium Ads Manager:
- Owner: Profile › Management › the “More” menu (⋯) › Delete business profile.
- Team member: Profile › Team › Delete account. To leave the team and keep your sign-in, use “Leave team” instead.
- If you haven't claimed a venue yet: the menu on any onboarding screen › Delete account.
If you are the owner, the App shows you, before you confirm, the amount of the final charge, what it covers and the card it will be charged to: every unpaid bill, including a balance Foodium has stopped collecting; the billable ad-days not yet billed (today counts as a full day), with one €0.99 platform fee for each calendar month they fall in. Nothing is charged for deleting, or for any day after it. When the charge succeeds, or when nothing is due, every ad stops at once and your team members lose access. If the charge fails, your business profile is not deleted and nothing changes: you can try again, pay with another card, or contact support@foodium.app.
When the deletion completes, your saved cards are removed. Your venues and their photos stay linked to you for 30 days: to get them back, sign in to Foodium Ads Manager again with the same email, Apple or Google account within those 30 days; your ads don't restart. After that, the venues are released and their photos are deleted within 90 days.
Your sign-in is deleted too, unless you also use it for a diner profile in the Foodium App. Deleting a business profile never touches the diner profile.
A team member is never charged: you leave the team and lose access to its venues at once, and the photos and ads you published belong to the business and stay with it.
If you haven't claimed a venue, there is nothing to pay. Any dispute you opened over a venue is withdrawn.
Without the App
To delete without the App, write to privacy@foodium.app and say what to delete: your diner profile, your business profile, or your sign-in with every profile it holds. Write from the email address you sign in with if you can; if we can't tell that the request is yours, we'll first ask you to confirm it from that address.
We accept the request at once. For a diner profile, we erase it within one month, apart from what stays (see “What we keep”); backup copies of what we have erased are deleted automatically within 14 days.
For a business profile, if you are the owner: if nothing is owed, we delete your business profile within one month of your request. If an amount is owed for ad-days already used, we reply within one month of your request with a secure link to pay it, and we delete your business profile as soon as it is paid. If you are a team member, or haven't claimed a venue yet, nothing is charged to you: within one month we delete your account as in the App, except what we list under “What we keep”.
Need help? Write to support@foodium.app. Contacting support is optional: you never need it to delete in the App.
What we keep
Some things stay, mainly:
- The reports and feedback you sent us about places, photos or problems with the App, as you sent them (what you wrote, the place or photo it is about, the date, and the identifier of your account: a code made from your sign-in email or, if you sign in with Apple and hide your email, from the identifier of your Apple account): for 3 years from the day you sent them, so that we can still review them.
- A full copy of your diner profile as it was when you deleted it, including your email address, name, phone number, date of birth and username: we keep it only as a safety copy, and erase it automatically after 30 days. We make no such copy when a business profile keeps your sign-in in use.
- The record of your closed account: the identifier of your account, the day you joined and the day you deleted your profile. For the first 30 days it also holds the email address you signed in with; if your sign-in ever had a business profile, the address stays on it. We keep the record with no fixed period; a new sign-up with the same sign-in is attached to it. You can ask us to erase it by writing to privacy@foodium.app.
- A short record of the emails and notifications we sent you and when, and of the last day you used the App, so that we do not send you the welcome email again if you come back, and do not send you the same notice twice. It is erased automatically 30 days after your account is closed.
- A line for each time you opened a venue's page or tapped directions, call, website or Instagram there, with the identifier of your account, the venue and the time, so that we can count them for the venue. Each line is erased automatically after 30 days.
- If an email to you bounced or was marked as spam, or if you unsubscribed from the emails of a Foodium business profile on the same address: a coded marker made from your email address (not the address itself), so that we do not write to that address again. We keep it until you ask us to remove it.
- In other people's accounts, because it is part of theirs: their contact for you, their chat with you (with what you sent them) and the reviews where they said they were with you. These stay, marked with the identifier of your account, until they remove them or delete their own profile.
- Invoices, the day-by-day record of ad-days (kept under a code instead of your name) and the billing record: for 6 years from the end of the year each one belongs to, because Andorran accounting law requires it, and longer only while a claim or official procedure about them is open.
- If the free days of a business profile have started: a coded marker made from its sign-in email (not the email itself), for 6 years, so that the 10 free days are given only once per sign-in email.
- Some technical records and usage statistics also stay, such as our servers' logs, crash reports and the statistics on how the App is used; they carry the identifier of your account.
- Backup copies, kept only to restore our systems after a failure: they are deleted automatically within 14 days.
